The inspiration for this acrylic painting is the celebration of MARCUS VITRUVIUS POLLIO, a renowned architect and engineer of the Roman Empire, born in Formia, Italy, in the first century (around 80–70 BC – 15 BC), known for his ingenuity, innovative designs, and treatises that have survived from antiquity.  He formulated that all buildings should have the three attributes of ' strength', ' beauty'  and 'utility'. We trust this painting will encourage those interested to research more about this unique individual. Many present-day architects of glass soulless towers, lacking character or beauty, would do well to study the visions of VITRUVIUS and learn from them.
